Transcribbit ("we", "us") provides lightweight, pay-as-you-go audio transcription. This notice tells you-in plain English-what personal data we collect, why we need it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It is designed to satisfy the EU & UK GDPR and equivalent U.S. state laws.

We never sell personal data and we never use your audio to train advertising models.
3. Who sees your data?
- Infrastructure partners (EU servers, speech-to-text engine) - bound by Data Processing Agreements
- Payment processor - PCI-DSS compliant
- Advisers or authorities - only when law requires
- Business transfer - if we merge or sell, you'll get prior notice
No external developers get raw audio or transcripts.
4. International transfers
Primary storage is in the EU. If data leaves the EEA/UK (e.g. to the U.S.) we rely on EU adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses with extra safeguards.
5. Retention schedule

When a period ends we delete or irreversibly anonymise the data.
6. Your rights
- Access, correct, delete or download your data
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Complain to a supervisory authority (e.g. CNPD in Portugal, ICO in the UK)

Residents of CA, VA, CO, CT and UT enjoy equivalent rights and we respond within 45 days.
7. Cookies & Analytics
We use only:
- Essential cookies for login/session
- Optional analytics cookies (loaded after you opt in)
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve content and user experience.
GA4 collects:
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Click interactions and navigation paths
- Device and browser information
- Geographic region (country/city level)
- Referral sources and campaign data
GA4 does NOT collect:
- Personal information or account data
- Audio files or transcripts
- Precise location or full IP addresses (automatically anonymized)
GA4 Cookies:

Third party: Google LLC (adequate under EU-US Data Privacy Framework)
You can change your analytics preferences at any time via:

8. Children
Service not intended for under-16s. If we learn we hold such data we delete it promptly.
9. Changes
We'll give 14 days' notice (email or in-app) before any material change. The "Last updated" date shows the current version.
