What each tool is actually built for

Notta is a notetaker for meetings and recordings. It records and transcribes Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Webex calls, identifies speakers, produces AI summaries, and keeps everything in a workspace you can search across your devices (checked 7 August 2026). On paid plans it exports transcripts, translates them and pushes into Salesforce, HubSpot and Zapier.

If your working day is a stack of meetings and interviews, that's the category Notta was designed for, and this post isn't going to talk you out of it.

Transcribbit does one thing. You forward a WhatsApp voice note to Transcribbit's WhatsApp contact and clean text comes back in the same chat, usually in about ten seconds for a short note and one to two minutes for a long one.

Can Notta transcribe WhatsApp voice notes?

Not directly. You can get one in, but you have to export the audio out of WhatsApp, open Notta on the web or in the app, and upload it as a file. It works, and the transcript will be good.

The cost is in two limits. Notta's free plan is capped at "up to 3 minutes per conversation" (checked 7 August 2026), so a rambly voice note that runs past three minutes won't transcribe in one go on the free tier. Short notes fit; long ones don't.

These numbers don't compare cleanly, and you should be suspicious of any comparison that says they do. Notta prices per seat per month for meeting capture, with a per-conversation cap on its free tier. Transcribbit's entry option is a one-time pack you consume over 90 days. Weigh them against the audio you actually have.

Notta's homepage advertises "58 Languages Supported" (checked 7 August 2026), and its Pro tier and up add transcript translation on top of the base transcription. It also advertises "98%+ Accuracy Guaranteed" on the homepage, which is a marketing claim rather than a published word error rate.

Privacy and what happens to your audio

The two tools take opposite approaches, and both are defensible.

Transcribbit is built for minimal retention. Audio files auto-delete in about a minute, transcripts aren't stored, content is never used to train AI, and the service is GDPR compliant.

Notta stores your conversations in a workspace so you can search, replay and share them later. That's the product working as intended, because a meeting archive that forgot every call would be useless. Read Notta's privacy policy directly and decide what fits your material.

Match retention to sensitivity. A voice note you need to read once and forget suits a tool that keeps nothing. A quarterly planning call you'll revisit for months suits a searchable record.
